The way you endorse a product/service and the social proof behind it (eg. Facebook polls or maybe reviews from other customers) are the main reason I was able to go from 2% to 8%+. If you don’t see these in your affiliate dashboard, use Thirsty Affiliate’s pro version to see them.
Alternatively, there could be a traditional 160×600 display ad unit here. From a network, that ad unit might earn the published an effective CPM of $3 or $4. If the optimal affiliate marketing links are used instead, the payout can be much higher.
You can also use Facebook Conversion Pixels to see the long-tail effect of your video campaign. For example, if someone visits your site after watching an ad, leaves, and then comes back, that information would be shown in the conversions column of your Facebook ad analytics.
That choice to use watch time instead of completion rate can muddy things a bit, since ad lengths can vary even within the same context. For example, Facebook has started testing six-second pre-roll ads in addition to its mid-roll ads that can be up to 15 seconds long. Hypothetically, if a majority of the in-stream ads Facebook serves are these six-second pre-roll spots and people always watch these non-skippable pre-rolls to completion, the watch time chart for Facebook’s non-skippable in-stream ads could look like there’s a significant viewership drop-off after the six-second mark. That could be interpreted to mean that people’s attention typically maxes out at six seconds — whether the ad is pre-roll or mid-roll and regardless of its length — when it could be more accurate to say that the ads typically max out then. Of course both could be true and likely would be if Facebook’s existing ads’ watch time is any indication. According to a Facebook spokesperson, ads’ watch time drop-offs remained roughly consistent regardless of the ads’ length; so if in-stream ad viewers were to typically tune out after six seconds, that would be as likely the case were the ad six seconds long or 15 seconds long.
To give you an idea of the scope of this and what’s possible, over the last 2 years I’ve made over $20k in affiliate commissions from one product alone. This includes an occasional mention in a blog post, 2 webinars, and a handful of dedicated emails. That’s it.
You can put up banners on your site, to promote your affiliate offers. Most affiliate programs will usually provide their own creatives when you sign up for their offers. All you have to do is insert the banner on a highly trafficked page (your affiliate tracking is usually embedded within the code). Banner ads in the right locations can do a great job of driving sales.
Fantastic workshop! The trainer was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about practical and powerful aspects of social media. I learned the difference between simply using the tools and leveraging them to meet my objectives. I can’t wait to try what I learned.
In order to support its global audience, Facebook has more than 70 languages available thanks to a framework that lets community members translate text on the platform. At this time, more than 300,000 people have contributed translations for different languages and dialects.
The subliminal advertising is so convincing, you will be drawn to it – the gravity of making money always will lure you. My advise, keep your wallet/money away! Do NOT go on the impulsive shopping spree. The 1 day only left, or a limited time offer. It just never ends.
Making a single, general ad to be shown to all of the different types of people on Facebook is inefficient and ineffective. Create different ads for different customers by tailoring to their preferences. An ad created for a potential new customer who has never heard of your company should be focused on building brand awareness, whereas an ad for someone familiar with your business should discuss additional aspects of your product or service that may benefit them. You can also take advantage of Facebook Audience Insights to know your audience based on age, demographics, lifestyle, gender, relationship status, and more.
Review information about various selling options to get an idea of how to use your Associates account. Learn about the Associates Site Stripe, which allows you to add items from any Amazon page to your aStore or website. Review the aStore program to see if this is a good option for your website.
It makes sense to launch a YouTube channel in conjunction with a website. This gives you more options for monetization rather than simply depending on on-page conversions from links in the description.
Nope. Affiliate marketing is for pretty much anyone and everyone. If you even just have a social media account, you can find a way to effectively promote it- without being “salesy” and without scaring followers away. There is a correct way to promote affiliate offers, which is what I teach in Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
The vast majority of affiliate marketing relationships will be established either through a network or through the generic, impersonal interfaces of the companies who have established their own platforms. While the opportunity to generate additional revenue exists if networks are cut out of the picture, the substantial benefits they offer, including administrative responsibilities, makes them a pretty vital part of the affiliate marketing ecosystem.
Beginning Thursday, the company said it would give marketers the ability to run video ads specifically as “in-stream” placements, meaning they will appear as ad breaks in the middle of publishers’ videos. Up until now, advertisers had only been able to run video ads on Facebook as stand-alone posts in users’ feeds, aside from a limited test of in-stream video ads.

When most people are scrolling through Facebook, they aren’t typically looking to buy. Delivering the message in a unique way that doesn’t necessarily look like a typical ad draws people in and makes them more likely to keep watching. Your ad should tell a story, and user engagement and getting your story across should be prioritized over explicitly selling the product. Consider formatting the video in a way that incorporates insightful information, funny content, or news.
Awesome article! This is jam packed with great info. I am just starting a personal finance blog with my fiance and we were a little confused about how to start monetizing. We were initially thinking about using Google AdSense but between this post and another blog I read I am surely convinced that’s not the correct route. I’m really happy you have shared this information because it’s provided an excellent starting point for creating income.
An affiliate marketing business is a freelance opportunity that lets marketers make money through a commission by selling third party products. And the best part is that affiliates can market from anywhere around the globe. The only requirement is just having a fast Internet connection to make this great freelancing gig work.
On the other hand, machines can take you only so far. They can’t produce your content or govern your strategic decision making. The Facebook Marketing Partners program (formerly Preferred Marketing Developers) is about attracting vertical experts that bring domain expertise and relationships well beyond the core platform principles that Facebook provides.
However, if you have a favorite tool of your trade, a must-have gadget that will make your readers’ lives easier, or a high-quality recommendation that you’re sure people will be thrilled with, go ahead and offer it.

If you want to make some money fromYouTube with your affiliate program, you must use small affiliate links. Most of the affiliate links are so long. Hence long affiliate links will look ugly when you add them to your product review video. For this reason, ensure that the links you use for your YouTube marketing are short to make it easy and straightforward for your viewers to click on and be directed to your product.
This book will help you choose the affiliate program that’s right for you. You’ll learn how to build the web traffic you need, create a campaign, and get affiliate links. Choose your favorite product or service, and get started marketing it today!
Although it differs from spyware, adware often uses the same methods and technologies. Merchants initially were uninformed about adware, what impact it had, and how it could damage their brands. Affiliate marketers became aware of the issue much more quickly, especially because they noticed that adware often overwrites tracking cookies, thus resulting in a decline of commissions. Affiliates not employing adware felt that it was stealing commission from them. Adware often has no valuable purpose and rarely provides any useful content to the user, who is typically unaware that such software is installed on his/her computer.
These are just a few of the questions you should ask before running your video ads. You should be looking at metrics like engagement and play rate of your video content across channels before you determine what videos are worth putting money behind. As WordStream founder, Larry Kim, taught me during my time as a WordStream employee, always promote your BEST content (i.e. the top 1%!).
