Okay, a Facebook user just watched your Video Ad. Now what? What action should follow? You need to guide them towards a specific direction, such as finding more information about your product/service at your website, liking your Facebook page, joining a contest, or anything else you have in mind.
This is extremely helpful information for somebody who is a newbie blogger! I’ve been looking for an all inclusive “guide” to explain affiliate marketing and this is the best I’ve found. Quick question for you – when you talk about the cookie expiration date, is that from the date that you post your review/recommendation or from the date that the reader clicks on the link? For example, the affiliate links you posted in this post are well over 90 days old but if I click on one of them now and buy that product, do you still get paid? Just curious how that works.
The advertisement doesn’t just directly target Star Wars attractions at Walt Disney World, though it might attract that audience. It also appeals to anybody with an interest in food or in the movie Star Wars. By using this tactic, the company can expand their reach but still appeal to with an interest in their marketing message.
So in a sense, both camps are right. The mechanical operation of Facebook marketing campaigns, whether organic or paid, will be automated to such a point over the coming years that the corresponding training will be miniscule. Complexity transfers from the user to the algorithm. Let lookalike audiences bring in the new customers, oCPM (optimized cost per thousand impressions) does the sub-targeting and bidding.
The closeness of users is beneficial for marketers trying to overcome Facebook’s algorithm, which is notorious for slashing organic reach for brands. Instead of trying to get in front of every single user yourself, let your audience do some of the work. Ask people to share your posts with their audience or to like your content. This will give you exposure to their audience which increases your organic reach. If enough people share it, you could even create a viral effect.
Think of a product or service you already like and go to the website of said product. Look for a link (often in the footer) that says “Affiliates,” “Affiliate Program,” “Referral Program” or something similar. Follow the links to sign up.
I don’t personally agree with the fact that Affiliate Marketing is easy or could be succeeded easily … As it really does require Proper Keyword Research backed up by high-quality On-Page and Off-Page Optimization.
Great post Leanne, it’s always great to see affiliate marketing in a concise and to the point fashion. When using analytics to track conversions, what factors do you feel are the most important to focus on for affiliate marketers? Where do you see a lot of affiliate campaigns fall flat in terms of optimizing their campaigns?
I knew affiliate marketing existed but I had no idea how it worked and how easy it could be to start making money with it. I also saved your list on my internet favorites so thank you for that. I always enjoy your content and appreciate all the hard work you guys do!
The affiliate-marketing industry is growing steadily. An independent survey commissioned by Rakuten Affiliate Network found that affiliate marketing is set to reach $6.8 billion by 2020. Ninety percent of advertisers included in the survey said that affiliate programs were important or very important to their overall marketing strategy, with the majority of publishers reporting that affiliate partnerships drove more than 20% of annual revenue.
If you want to find a way to be able to mention products that are on sale more frequently on your website one of the easiest ways I’ve done that in the past is to just do a weekly deals post. So what I’ll do is publish a post every week with the best deals for my niche and then incorporate all of the previous tactics I’ve discussed above to link to the products on Amazon.com. Depending on how often you publish articles you could do it more or less frequently (I’ve seen some websites do these style of articles every day).
Great read I’ve just started building out an amazon affiliate site and it’s starting to make me a couple bucks a day :). On a side note I was trying to view Azon Theme and the link you have in your blog post seems to be a dead link. Do you have another link to the azon theme it’s differently something I want to check out.
Anything else you can think of: be creative and come up with new ideas. A comparison post doesn’t have to include a table. For example, you can come up with a quiz for your audience and show the products that match their answers.
In some cases, viewers must click on a link before they can watch. Requiring this extra step will almost always perform worse than just having the video automatically start playing in a feed. As with most kinds of marketing, requiring an extra click will reduce your reach considerably.
