This is a really excellent article, I was especially impressed by the range of different tips you explained. This would be so useful to newbie marketers. Did you learn everything you write about here from the training platform you mentioned?
WP Rich Snippets – premium plugin that adds rich snippets (eg. review stars) to your snippets. You get 33% of sales and it’s what I use on my site. I recommend it over the All In One Schema.org plugin as it looks nicer with more settings and add-ons. Here’s a post I used it on. If you’re writing reviews as part of your strategy, get this for yourself.

I come from a quite unsuccessful background of web design/SEO. I blogged because I knew it was good for SEO, but my articles never had a purpose regarding monetization. I finally took a leap of faith and dropped my clients to figure out blogging/affiliate marketing. I was good at website speed optimization and knew hosting was the #1 factor. Looking for the best, I saw SiteGround was rated #1 in multiple Facebook polls and had a great reputation with generous affiliate commissions. So I wrote detailed tutorials on how to website speed… how to configure WordPress cache plugins, hosting reviews, and other speed-related topics. Usually near the end of a post I would say “Oh, and here’s why you should switch to SiteGround” with evidence on why they’re the best… Facebook polls, Tweets, load time improvements, etc. That’s when things got good… I never had money like this so I feel like it’s my calling to help other people overcome financial instability and create passive income through SEO and affiliate marketing.
I had a chance of looking at how much some CPA marketers are earning. My jaws hit the floor. How can anyone make 32k in a day? It is not some Photoshop screenshot but the CPA company interface allows earning shouts which is drawn live from the system and displayed on a live chat. That’s where I saw those big figures. Remember I said 32k in a day not in a month. Now that is insane. This gives you some idea how: http://x.co/9RnqK
You have a blog, website, email list or some other online presence where people listen to what you have to say. (If you want a blog or website here are my steps to get yours up and running in 15 minutes or less).
The most common question I hear is related to how companies track the record of who is sending the traffic and making the sales. The simple answer is with a tracking URL (a unique link given to you by the affiliate company or product company).
I’ve always been afraid to use my affiliate links here on youtube, because I’ve heard horror stories about people being shut down. I have one question. If I post an amazon affiliate link, do I need to check the content declaration box?
What is your opinion on affiliate sites like eduhire.me ? They provide random programs, but all of their programs are both via online AND offline stuff. How would one deal with that? Could you write a post on something like this?
Yes is the short answer. Any time you are planing on generating money, you should have a plan. No plan means no real focus. There may be some 1/1000 percent of a chance you will succeed, but I haven’t met them yet. If you have already started and have generated an income, record how. Doing so will give you material for use in expanding your business faster.
I request ABT team that Please a share few methods that not need investment because there are many people on net that want to earn but due to some issue like investment not start and us internet just for surfing. 🙁 . I will appreciate if any of you post any method that not need a investment. 🙂
That’s right, although you might see YouTubers using much nicer (and expensive equipment) such as Pat Flynn, this is not a requirement. In fact, we highly recommend you use what you have first to decide if using YouTube for affiliate marketing is a strategy you like. If not, then you won’t have wasted any money. As with everything else, I don’t recommend you put time and effort into anything unless you actually enjoy it. Play to your strengths! If it is something you enjoy, though, then you can make an informed decision on what equipment you might want to upgrade to eventually.
I was reading an article some months back by an affiliate marketer who said that some of his readers have told him that they always make sure they click to products through his site so that he earns the commission.

Pat Flynn recommends Pretty Link for this. You can create clean, easy-to-use-and-remember links plus get analytics so you can see exactly where people are coming from and what strategies are working best for you.
Affiliate networks also offer a certain degree of “protection” in the sense that they ensure revenue you earn is properly attributed and paid out. When you start establishing direct relationships, you put yourself (to some degree) at the mercy of the merchants you’re able to land as partners.
Pay Per Sale or PPS – where companies pay a percentage of all sales that are qualified. These could be a percentage which was agreed by the company and it’s affiliate. Among the most common PPS program is the Amazon Associates where a publisher can earn up to 15% depending on the products that were sold. Here’s a list of places where you can find products to promote.
If you already have your video hosted elsewhere, you might be tempted to simply link to the video in your post and advertisement. For instance, you’ve probably seen hundreds of videos on Facebook that have been shared from YouTube or similar video platforms. Some may even reside on the owner’s small business website.
This article has taken me several hours to create and edit so I’d love to hear your feedback. Please let me know what you think of my tips by posting in the comments below. As always, because I love my readers I respond to each and every question that comes in so get to it!
The most popular PPC program is Google Adsense which is a cinch to set up and use. You simply sign up, walk through the setup process and paste the provided snippet of code onto your site. That’s pretty much all that’s required from you. Google will then “read” your site, match the keywords it finds in your posts with advertisers that want to target those keywords and then ads will automatically pop up on your site accordingly.
Facebook recently began measuring video consumption in “hours” rather than “total videos viewed” to give interested parties a more accurate comparison between Facebook and its largest video rival, YouTube. Facebook video statistics put the amount of Facebook videos watched at 100M hours per day (Recode), while Business Insider reports that YouTube earns roughly 6 times that amount (650M hours).
Awseme post. I never knew you could partner with youtube. I like how you can slip in branding, a link to your blog and an affliate link at once. I am now currently getting around 40% of my traffic from youtube in non IM markets.
Every network offers affiliates a way to filter through the numerous offers presented. Take the time to go through the various categories or search for specific merchants that you think would do well on your site. There’s no set of rules for filtering through the options; you’ll ultimately need to rely upon your familiarity with your audience and your gut feelings about what types of offers will perform.
Forms of new media have also diversified how companies, brands, and ad networks serve ads to visitors. For instance, YouTube allows video-makers to embed advertisements through Google’s affiliate network. New developments have made it more difficult for unscrupulous affiliates to make money. Emerging black sheep are detected and made known to the affiliate marketing community with much greater speed and efficiency.
Hi Chris – as I was reading I was thinking to myself how much of this comes from your excellent Niche Profit Course. Interestingly most of the tips you offer here could be used on just about any blog. As an example, I could mention a business book in the context of a business post, and link to it using an Amazon affiliate link.
Affiliate marketing is probably one of the quickest and cheapest (not the easiest) ways to start making money online as you don’t have to create any products yourself. You simply link up a buyer and a seller, and you take a commission on the sale that has been referred by you.
Create custom alerts on your phone for affiliate sales – if you use GMail, go to your settings and create a filter so all emails with “SiteGround Affiliate Sale Generated” in the subject line go into their own folder (tweak the subject line to match whatever email notification your affiliate sends you). Then setup a custom alert on your phone using the GMail app so anytime you generate a sale, you get a custom alert (here’s a tutorial for Android and here’s one for Apple). I have different notifications for SiteGround, StudioPress Themes, etc. Makes your day better 🙂
The easiest and most common way to start building an audience for a website is via social media. Depending on your niche and industry, you can choose from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and several other niche and location-specific networks. Building up an engaged and interested following on social media is a great opportunity to build relationships and once you have their trust, promote your products and services to them.
As some of the above Facebook stats have already hinted at, Facebook is huge internationally. In fact, 85% of Facebook’s daily active users come from outside US and Canada. India, Brazil and Indonesia have the largest Facebook audiences after the US.
Don’t promote a product until you’ve subscribed to your affiliate partners’ email list and know exactly what your readers can expect in terms of follow-up marketing. Your potential partner may have a more aggressive style than your readers are used to, and that can reflect poorly on you. If there’s a big mismatch, don’t promote the product.
