Thanks for this, great article! I was just wondering though – I’m signed up to the Amazon affiliate program and for some items I can just copy and paste a link, while for others the only option seems to be code to paste into a website. It’s mostly books that I’m linking to at the moment, so not sure why there is a difference? Also, is there any way to use the pastable code if you don’t have a blog or website? Thanks!
If you’re promoting a low-priced product like an ebook, digital download or hosted service on an ongoing basis, you might do something as simple as using a P.S. or signature link in your regular emails, with occasional emailed links to custom content.

Affiliate marketing is becoming more and more utilized and this very book is presenting some information that is going to be my beginning point in my further reading and trying out on beginning my own venture in Affiliate marketing I will begin with the Amazon site as I will offer that kind of service.

For your initial 10 videos you can devise a strategy that will become the backbone of your channel. Someone selling books for example, can divide the channel into 3 types of video. The first type can be reviews, the second summaries, and the last hangouts.
Research long-tail keywords to target. If you are selling a weight-loss product, the phrase “weight loss” will pair you with tons of competition. Instead, break your topic down into more specific phrases like “lose weight in two weeks” or “lose weight for wedding.”
The ads, known as pre-roll ads because they run before the desired content, will only appear on videos in Facebook’s Watch hub, according to Facebook. Watch is where Facebook, media companies and other video creators create channels for shows and video series, and is meant to be a different experience than the traditional News Feed, where pre-roll ads have long been off limits.
How to promote If you do not have a website, you can use sites like Squidoo and get a free webpage. Make sure you choose a subject for example ‘free samples’ which is very popular. Insert you codes provided by the affiliate program into your website, and starting marketing your website. Submit your URL to various search engines such as Google. If you have a website there is more that you can do, and add application such as join mailing list. When someone joins your mailing you can send updates of new products and promotions to them.
What a great post , Jafar . I think for Landing Pages , Premise is a good tool for the people who are ready to shed some money . The problem is that people who can’t afford an e-mail list cannot promote their e-book and product to the fullest .
Yeah. So I used to run a blog that I learned a ton about affiliate marketing with. And I recently sold that blog and came over to YouTube and started a YouTube channel, and realized that nobody was using affiliate links. And I was like, what is going on? Especially the huge channels weren’t using these, and they weren’t using them the right way. And I thought, oh, I’ve got to tell everyone that they can make a lot of money without sponsored videos. So I’ve just come over and started my own channel about helping people live the ultimate life for less, and been incorporating affiliate links and then showing other people how to do it.
With Youtube too, you cannot just blatantly tell people to buy your product. You first have to provide valuable content – your videos must be entertaining and informative. Also, they have to be unique. You cannot keep repeating the things that other people are already saying – you have to better than them.
So I’d love for you guys to think about using affiliate marketing as a way of selling other people’s stuff. And if you’re going to talk about it anyway for free, you might as well use the affiliate link, which is usually the situation which I use it. But you can also make maybe a dedicated a channel about product reviews and things also. Or just consider making your own stuff that you’re going to sell as well.
If you’re a newbie to building sites, the easiest way to set up a site is by using WordPress. The WordPress CMS is very easy to use and while coding skills can come in handy, for the most part you will not require any tech knowledge to set up your site.
Creating blog would not be enough to start earning money. Since every company, blog or website need to be promoted to generate business. You should apply digital marketing techniques to promote your blog which includes SEO, PPC, promoting your blog on social media groups relevant to your niche etc.
Most blogs won’t allow the author to include their own affiliate links (but it’s worth checking). The next best thing is to link to the definitive content on your own blog, either naturally within the body of your post or in your author’s bio.
This book is just amazing, I have been reading a lot of books trying to get a better understanding of online/internet marketing so I can improve and develop the performance of my company and have better sales. In this book I have learned everything about affiliate marketing, how do they work, their benefits, their risk and other details that you should be aware when you are working with them. Another thing that I like about this book is that all the information written in it, is useful, helpful and it is there for a reason and the author made it easy to understand.
Before I took Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, I had all the affiliate links up on my blog, but I wasn’t seeing many conversions. There is a right way AND a wrong way to use affiliate links, and Michelle walks you though all of that.
The beauty of making money in affiliate marketing from blogging is that you can virtually write like a dog online and still get hordes of traffic from Bing, Google, and YaHoO, if you do the transformation business work and post fresh content everyday or every other day to your blog w/ affiliate ads around it. The money comes when least expected.
Once you’ve chosen your interest and you’ve create a website where you can write about it, the next step is to pick out the affiliate programs that will advertise on your site. It’s tough to start affiliate marketing without a monetization plan! With over a million products and services to pick from, you’re bound to find something related to your interests, so feel free to go crazy with ideas like underwater basket weaving and scuba lessons if your interests lie with the ocean, or organic food and organic conditioners if you prefer to discuss how to stay beautiful with only organic plant extracts.
I would give this a hand of applause on this informative article. My only concern is I think I’d rather take number 4 and 5 next to #2 and #3 next to 5. After building a site you are to post something on it right? So by then you have to start posting valuable post already, if not how will be merchants grants you as an affiliate if they don’t see any post? Then you got that valuable information posted, it will gives you a long term good impression and when the merchant see this, good affiliate and better once would ask you to be their affiliate. It is just my thought though, what can you say about it Justin?
Videos play in News Feeds automatically, and are counted as a view after 3 seconds (the industry standard). People seeing the video can click a button to unmute a sound, and see the video in full screen by expanding the player. This feature is applicable to Premium Video Ads only (videos that are 15 seconds long).
They are absolutely still up to date (and I review them twice a year to make sure they stay that way. Unfortunately the one thing I haaaven’t been so good at updating are the testimonials. Will get some more recent ones up ASAP!
