In a matter of 5 minutes, I’d made $500. I’d never made money like this via my website before. But it was that moment that I truly understood the power of building an audience and monetizing it through affiliate marketing.
Remember: Products you promote and the content you create should match. Your audience comes to your website or signs up to your newsletters to read valuable articles. Focus on your readers, the problems they may face, and how to solve them. If your content is of real value and doesn’t look like it’s been created for the sole purpose of promotion, people will more likely click on links.
YouTube affiliate marketing is not a rocket science for experts, but a simple process of creating and posting videos on YouTube along with an affiliate link. This affiliate link directs traffic to the actual product’s page, and if someone buys the product via your channel, you get an affiliate commission. The sales are tracked thru affiliate tracking tools like cookies to pay commission to the right person.
Anything else you can think of: be creative and come up with new ideas. A comparison post doesn’t have to include a table. For example, you can come up with a quiz for your audience and show the products that match their answers.
Great article. The Azon theme is pretty amazing for Amazon niche sites. If you want, check out the site listed with this post to see how I utilized the Azon theme. Still, I have a little bit of wrap up work. Great post, once again.
WP Rich Snippets – premium plugin that adds rich snippets (eg. review stars) to your snippets. You get 33% of sales and it’s what I use on my site. I recommend it over the All In One Schema.org plugin as it looks nicer with more settings and add-ons. Here’s a post I used it on. If you’re writing reviews as part of your strategy, get this for yourself.
So while people may not spend as much time on Facebook as they used to, they do tend to check it pretty frequently. One way to maximize your exposure is to schedule your Facebook posts to publish throughout the day, at times when your audience is most likely to be engaged. Not sure when the optimal time is? You can use our ViralPost feature to automatically schedule your posts to publish at the times your followers are most active.
While multivariate tests do exist, they are more complicated and come at a higher price. The value of single factor A/B tests is understanding exactly what variable you can credit for your results prior to moving forward.
Also thanks for keeping this page updated, I notice that the earliest comments are a few years old now but the page seems to have been updated only a few months ago. It’s nice to find someone who seems to care about what they are writing and isn’t just pumping out the same old re-written junk.
Are you ready to create your brief and attention-grabbing Facebook Video Ad? If you make this campaign really effective, it will help you build brand awareness and boost the popularity of your business.
Once you’ve decided on a niche, it’s time to find out what’s out there in terms of programs and products to promote. You’ve probably already done a bit of research for this while researching your niche — now you need to dig deeper.
I could have promoted WP Engine (hosting company) for $200/sale with no tier program to climb – sounds pretty good right? But when I checked ShareASale I saw their reversal rates were 24%! Just to give you an idea SiteGround’s reversals are less than 10%. WP Engine starts at $29/month while SiteGround’s is $3.95/month, plus SiteGround has a better reputation. I had to climb a tier program to get SiteGround’s $150/sale, but long-term my research paid off.
To advance your argument, I think it’s fair to even say that it’s okay that some people might be put off by the marketing side of things. Some people just won’t follow along, and there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as that’s just a minority.
Thanks for your response! Looking at the bestseller list is a good idea, at least to get some initial ideas. It seems that no matter which direction I go, though, there’s already another bigger site out there already doing it.
Great article as it gets me thinking about the various ways to monetize my sites. With that said, my biggest hurdle has been how to get started building traffic. You see articles all over the net talking about massive traffic techniques, but I’ve never really found a guide for a fresh blog/website and how to get to their first 100, 500, or 1,000 daily uniques. Of course writing consistent quality content is key, but writing alone an audience does not make. Any tips or articles to point us to? Thanks again Sean!
There’s often a trade-off between the quality of a product and the commission being offered. And it’s tempting to gravitate toward the partners and products that pay you the most per conversion. But if those products are unlikely to convert, they might not be the best fit.
You just need to sign up on free services like Blogger or WordPress and simply follow the directions. However, you will end up with a sub-domain. A sub-domain is good enough to start as an affiliate, as long as the new website has relevant content and substantial traffic.
Haris nothing is easy, you must have not read what Jafar has mentioned earlier in the post. “The harder the you put your effort more the results you will get” Also you need to be a good writer and know the strategies to start make money through affiliate marketing. I’ve used Amazon associates program and know how t works according investment we do on book reviewing and sharing on social media.
I’ve been using Rakuten and still happy about it but now I’m trying a few other networks as well. I quite like Online Affiliate World but they specialise in gaming and poker more so I needed a bit of guidance and help. Their customer support is great so wish me luck moving forward. Any other good niche networks I should look at?
Generally speaking, affiliate marketing gives you a chance to make money by promoting other people’s products. When you refer a person to a site, you may get a commission if they purchase something or perform an action, like click on a link or sign up for a service.
This is big news for publishers, many of which have trouble making money off videos they share to Facebook. Facebook lets publishers make money from branded content, or videos they create for marketers, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg has always been opposed to pre-roll ads, which are standard in the industry.
However, if any one is in the same boat and want to promote less known honest programs you can use the hype caused by those scammy type product launches, siphon it and redirect the traffic to something worth while.
Affiliate marketing on YouTube is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to guarantee consistent traffic streams to your affiliate websites. When you sell products for other people, what you need is a quality YouTube channel. Today I am going to share with you how to begin marketing those products on YouTube.

Being open and upfront about earning affiliate commission is another way not to appear pushy or as if you’re just trying to make a sale. This very useful and informative post contained a number of affiliate links and were I to want to buy one of those products or services mentioned, I would actively seek out this post and buy it through Sean as a way of saying thank you for such top information.
Naturally, the number of people who see your ad or respond to it will depend upon many factors. These include your marketing budget and how well you’ve crafted your advertisement. Still, you might as well start with an advantage by directly uploading your videos to Facebook.
The first step of any marketing effort is to decide what you want to accomplish. In your Facebook video ad campaign, are you trying to increase brand awareness or drive conversions? Choosing what you’re going to prioritize should affect what kind of video you should create and how you should distribute it.
Choosing an affiliate program will take some work, but don’t be afraid to invest a significant amount of time into it because this is, of course, where your income will come from. Choosing the right program will make it well worth your while!
Once you are cleared to promote a particular product and you understand the terms for that campaign, you look through the list of available buttons, banners, text links, etc. for that product. You choose the one that you like most and copy code they provide for you. This code has your unique ID in it. Use this link when promoting the product.
