Fill your website with content that will be useful to the people who are interested in your niche, and place your affiliate links throughout in the most relevant places. That way when someone interested in your content clicks your link, they go to a sales page for a product that they might also be interested in, and if they buy it you get a commission!
Of course there are other ways to make money besides affiliate marketing, like selling t-shirts, fan funding through YouTube or Patreon, sponsorship, etc. But affiliate marketing is a tried and true to gain additional income from your YouTube channel.
Affiliate networks that already have several advertisers typically also have a large pool of publishers. These publishers could be potentially recruited, and there is also an increased chance that publishers in the network apply to the program on their own, without the need for recruitment efforts by the advertiser.
On the flip side, I’d love for you to join my email list for this blog but I have to be a little more convincing by showing you that I’m a credible resource first. (Already convinced? Sign up here ;D)
Once your Facebook video ads have gained a significant amount of views you need to take a step back and determine if the money spent is yielding a return. How many people are watching videos? Clicking on your ads? Visiting your website after watching? Understanding how your Facebook video ads impact your target audience will help improve your video production and advertising strategy to ensure your business is positively impacted. (Check out our new benchmarks for Facebook ads to see if your metrics are where they should be.)
Videos – add affiliate links to YouTube descriptions and tell people you left a link there. You can’t edit a video once it’s uploaded though, so I had a hard time keep mine up-to-date. It requires more maintenance than posts especially if there’s a lot of change in your industry.
This is the most important step in creating a successful YouTube channel. This does not mean, however, that you need a professional video editing studio and a $5,000 camera. While it is important to have clear and well edited audio and video, the most important aspect of these videos is the actual content itself. Providing a high quality, detailed and honest review of a product can be the determining factor of whether or not someone will purchase that product.
What if there was a tool that studied Google’s search data and told you exactly what your target audience was searching for? There is, and once you read this article on Jaaxy you’ll never leave home without it.
That’s 4 sales in a month, and if those 4 sales were for that crazy expensive television, that’d be almost $5000 in commissions! (hurry go get the ‘vette!). But a more typical commission is closer to $25 -$30, or anywhere from $100-$120/month for those 4 sales.
This is so good it could be published as a book. Easily the best post on affiliate marketing I have ever seen. I will need to take some time off one weekend and go through this and implement properly.
I’m near certain the cap is $25. If there is a cap I was just saying that you could sell items where based on your percentage of payout you don’t surpass it. So if you were getting 5% from .co.uk’s aff program then you could sell up to $500 and still get your max commission. That being said, all this info is inside the Amazon.co.uk program.
I know 30% of my earnings came from products people bought because I happened to be the one that sent them onto Amazon.com. For example, I sold a watch a while ago for $5,000 and got a $400 commission but I don’t even own a website that even remotely discusses watches. This is one of the other reasons why I love using Amazon’s affiliate program.
While these amounts are not in the thousands, it still goes to show how a product (shown to the right audience) can have powerful results. So just imagine, what if i were a lot more active as opposed to passive?
Outsourced Program Management companies typically combine formal and informal training, providing much of their training through group collaboration and brainstorming. Such companies also try to send each marketing employee to the industry conference of their choice.
Test different video ads to determine what converts best. To optimize the video ad campaign, test more than two ad sets; because the first video ad outperforms the second doesn’t mean it will do better than the third video ad too.
Very nice article! Affiliate marketing is perfect for bloggers as long as they offer quality content and are upfront about it. If people are willing to donate money to YouTubers via Patreon, why wouldn’t they buy something that they want or need through the site or blog of someone that offers them great content and support his or her efforts? It’s a win – win kind of deal.
First, you need to sign up for an affiliate program. After signing up you will get an affiliate link or a special URL that contains the Username or ID of the affiliate. You can then use this link whenever you mention the advertiser in your website.
Sell what you know. To start, you should stick to selling products or services that you’re familiar with. Online marketers call this process “picking your niche.” You should select a niche that represents your current interests or your occupation.
Market, market, market. Don’t rely on SEO or social media alone to drive people to your website or blog to take advantage of your affiliate recommendations. Understand who your target market is, where you can find it, and how you can entice it to your site.
(Also, did you notice Michelle said you don’t even need to HAVE a blog to be a successful affiliate marketer?! I thought that part was pretty interesting. Meaning affiliate marketing would be a great side income option for anyone who was willing to learn to do it and put the effort into a social media account – like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.)
